4.6 MODULAR MUSTANG PAGE

Welcome to the Lair's Mustang Page!

The reasoning behind putting up this page is not to bore you with pics of my 96 GT that you really don't care about, but rather to provide some kind of useful information that can help out a new Mustang owner (well.... maybe it is! What do YOU care!?). I'm no modular engine guru, but I've spent a good amount of time under the hood and learned a few things that might can help.

Plus, I don't want to regurgitate information that you can find on other sites just as easily. I'm writing on my personal experiences and those of the fellow stangers who give me permission.

If you'd like to comment on my site or any good info to be passed a long, drop me a letter:    The BeAsT

NEWS

6/22/99:   My friend Mike (Slow 5.0) told me I never update this page. Well, SORRY! =) Unfortunatly, this site is going to be moved to a new location. I now have cable modem service with the local cable company so I just don't see the point of paying an extra 20 bucks a month for phone service. The cable company doesn't offer email or web sites yet because it's all still in beta test mode over here and I'm getting the service free (for now anyway) because of this. YOU MUST EMAIL ME YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS IF YOU WANT ME TO INFORM YOU WHEN THE NEW PAGE IS UP ON THE NEW LOCATION.   It appears that 5.0 Magazine's survey on Mustang readers indicates a 50% 4.6 following and 50% 5.0 following, so we're making progress! I would have guessed it more like 75% 5.0. That's good news. Apparently the next best mod is going to be gears. A local 95 stock 5.0 started pulling me the other day and I noticed he was running through the gears faster. I think an upgrade to 3.73s from my wimpy 2.73s ought a make a bit of spark...oh yeah, and the nitrous bottle refills, too... =)
6/6/99:   After reading 5.0's article on the silencer for the 99 Mustang, I decided to throw mine back on as well. I can't really tell a difference anyway, but maybe I feel better =) . I've been waiting forever for EDO's (Ed Olin, AKA Studboy) 98 racing season post on the Corral for a *LONG* time, I can't wait to read it. No good kills as of yet, but after two months I just now have to refill my two NOS bottles. I think that's pretty good. In fact, funny thing is I was running out of nitrous just as I was racing this mega-modded GST Eclipse and he whipped me! I should have paid attention to 500 psi and 95 degrees outside. Well, at LEAST HE should have paid attention to the finger I was giving him as he drove by! (jk) We're gonna race again soon... I'll keep ya posted!
5/18/99:   Whew! I bet you guys thought I was never gonna update this thing! The good news is that the nitrous oxide article is up in the Modular Tech Area. It also includes my first real kill story with the laughing gas. My hood has been replaced with a Ford Cobra hood this time after $3000 worth of damage. I'm glad to finally have my baby back and I've always loved the Cobra hood look.
